It’s back! BYT Theatre Visits

BYT Theatre trips are back and we are very grateful to our theatre friends and partners for providing BYT members with a chance to see such great theatre and performances. Recently, we have had a great and intriguing time with visits to the Young Vic, to see Collaboration and Oklahoma, and the ENO to see The Handmaids Tale, and we have some more visits planned.

Exciting News for BYT!

BYT are excited to announce that following a successful year long pilot project, we have received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for our BYT 7-11 Strand.

This is amazing news for BYT!

With the help of the National Lottery Community Fund we will continue to build on the successes of the project and establish it as a vital resource for children, young people and Brixton families.

BYT 7-11 Starts 7 January 4.15pm – 5.45pm

BYT 7-11 – our exciting new programme strand for local young people aged 7 -11 continues on Friday 7th January – providing free, weekly drama and performing arts workshops, every Friday during term time 4.15pm – 5.45pm

The workshops uses drama as a fun and exciting tool to:

  • Build confidence, communication, interpersonal and creative skills;
  • Develop literacy skills, and support the school curriculum;
  • Build acting and performance skills and give young people access to the profession.

BYT 7-11 will provide a perfect ladder of opportunity for participants, enabling them to progress from the younger group to our well established older BYT group, (13 – 19). The young people will engage in fun, creative activities providing a positive outlet for their energy and an alternative to more negative activities and behaviour.
